About
This space isn’t just another typical music site talking about artists or trends. I wanted it to feel like a genuine conversation about music. The kind that moves from basic stuff like learning an instrument or improving vocals, to live shows, studio sessions, and the realities of the music industry. Whether you’re picking up your first guitar or just curious about life behind a concert stage, there’s something here for you.
There’s a specific moment I keep coming back to when people ask me why I started this.
A small indie festival near the riverfront. Nothing famous, the kind of thing you almost skip. The lights reflected off the water; everybody around us was singing; strangers were dancing like they’d known each other for years, and for the first time, I understood that music wasn’t just sound. It was an atmosphere. Memory. Connection.
I grew up in Beaverton, where my grandpa played records every morning, loud and unapologetically. Blues, Johnny Cash, Fleetwood Mac. Mood-dependent, volume never negotiable. Yes. That noisy kitchen was where it all started.
The rhythm habit showed up in middle school. Mrs. Sherley handed me drumsticks and pointed me toward the school kit. Something clicked that day, and I never looked back. Then came my cousin George’s abandoned acoustic in our garage. Uff, the strings tore up my fingers those first weeks. Almost quit. Glad I didn’t…!!
That journey led me to a Music Production degree, and now my weekends are Echoes of the Woods, travelling the Pacific Northwest with close friends, filming stripped-back sessions wherever the atmosphere feels right. And honestly, nothing beats it!
That’s Light Craft Music. Human, imperfect, and real. That’s exactly what I hope this site feels like for you, too.
Glad you’re here.
